Tattoos | Comment (0)Italian, Sanskrit, Kanji, And Arabic Tattoo Designs The Hottest Word Tattoo Designs
You have probably seen a few people at least by now that have written and word tattoo designs right? Guys with them on their forearm and ladies on their side and rib cage area. These are currently one of the most popular trends in tattoo designs and styles that are out there. Everyone wants to be unique and different in the world of tattoos and not the same. Therefore many people are opting to get literary tattoo designs done in a foreign language. Thus definitely adds a level of complexity and an air of mystery to the final design. It makes it more alive and interesting it gives it more dimension so more people will notice it.
What To Watch Out For – If you are thinking about getting a word tattoo and especially if you are considering getting one in a foreign language you should proceed carefully. If you have done any searching on Kanji Tattoos on line you have probably come across sites where people have posted pictures of their kanji tattoo design and they are asking what it means. Often it does not mean anything like what they thought. The Kanji is sometimes backwards, or missing strokes in the best cases and in the worst it says something totally different then what the person thought. Don’t fall into this trap and go around sporting a tattoo that says something that you don’t want it to. Just proceed with caution and spend some time doing your research for the tattoo design carefully. Do not just trust that the tattoo artist tells you what it says. Remember tattoo artists are also business people and they make money by doing tattoo designs. If you are willing to pay they are willing to tattoo. It is not their concern so much about what the script says.
How To Do it Right – So how do you do a foreign language tattoo the right way? Spend some time doing research and choosing the words carefully. Also with the power of the Internet these days it is very easy to find a native speaker of the language who will translate the tattoo for you professionally. There are a ton of translation services on line and paying an extra ten dollars for your tattoo design to ensure it says exactly what you want will help you to feel confident with your design.
Another thing that can be very helpful to the translator and make the words and the final tattoo design more accurate is to choose words that are common and not slang. For example if you wanted to get the word “pimp” tattooed across your chest in Kanji it would be very difficult for the translator to find Kanji that would translate that word. There is no word for pimp in the Japanese language and for sure in the older script or writing of Kanji which is thousands of years old. So choose your words wisely and try to find words that are not slang or culturally based words. Also don’t be locked into exact translations. Often words don’t translate straight across from one language to the next. It takes some finesse and alter of the words to truly express the meaning of the saying in another language.
Finding A Tattoo Artist – Last but not least you want to carefully find the tattoo artist. There are tons of tattoo artists out their and many of them are truly artists. Meaning they have special skills and talents and they are not just machines that pump out tattoo designs. They have special and unique talents and skill sets and therefore it can be beneficial to seek out an artist that specializes in the language you want to get the tattoo done in. For example if you get a kanji tattoo design done by a Japanese tattoo artist you can be pretty sure the translation and the artwork has been done correctly. As always you get what you pay for in life and going with cheap is not the way to go with a tattoo that you will wear for the rest of your life. So if it costs a little more then pay and be satisfied with the tattoo you get!
Still think you want to get a foreign word tattoo design? If so you are in good hands and started the process well. Just remember to take your time and don;t rush the process. Instead enjoy the process that you go through in finding and getting your ideal tattoo design it is all part of the process. Also remember to connect with an artist that will listen to your ideas and also add their own ideas to enhance your design but not take it over. Finding and getting all of these elements together in the right combination can take time.

Tattoos | Comment (0)Advice from an Expert Tattoo Artist on Caring for a Brand New Tattoo
Aftercare of your tattoo is very important if you want your new tattoo to heal correctly and look fabulous.
Many people believe that once their tattoo is done, it’s a lock, but that is far from reality. The truth is that unless you properly care for your new tattoo, it could easily lose color, flake, scar, or you could wind up with an infection. It’s important that you follow these directions exactly. Here’s what you need to know.
Tattoo Do’s * Definitely use an approved aftercare moisturizer, healing cream or vitamin E oil * Do leave your bandage over the tattoo for at least five to six hours and no more than 12 hours * Keep the tattoo out of contact with water (this includes the shower & bath) * Do lightly pat your skin dry if the tattooed area happens to get wet
Tattoo Don’ts * Don’t allow your tattoo to be exposed to sunlight until fully healed * Don’t allow your tattoo in be submerged in water…especially chlorinated water * Your tattoo should not dry out completely * Do not over moisturize * Avoid picking at your tattoo scabs * Always cover your tattoo once the initial bandage has been removed for the first several days * Be careful not to allowanything to rub against your tattoo and cause friction
Tattoo procedures for aftercare
1) 6 hours after you leave the tattoo parlor, wash your hands well with an antibacterial soap. You want to ensure that your hands are free from dirt, germs, or anything infectious.
2) Remove the bandage carefully that was placed over your tattoo at the parlor. With a very mild antibacterial soap, carefully wash the tattoo area to remove any greasy covering, ink residue, blood, etc. Be extremely gentle with your skin. Gently pat your skin dry…and do not.
3) Apply a thin layer of moisturizer, healing ointment or vitamin E oil. Popular brands recommended at parlors include A&D Ointment, Neosporin, and Bacitracin. There are also tattoo-specific products that are designed exclusively for aftercare, and they include Tattoo Goo, H2Ocean Aftercare, and Black Cat Tattoo Cream.
4) Three to six times a day, apply a thin film of anti-bacterial healing ointment or vitamin E oil to your tattoo. Use enough to moisten the tattoo area, but not enough to leave streaks or allow it to build up. Remember that over moisturizing your tattoo may cause fading of the inks. If you use too thick a coating to keep your tattoo moist throughout the day, the inks will probably fade. However, if you lightly coat the area three to four times per day the colors should set properly.
5) Cover the tattooed area with light, loose fitting clothing. Don’t scratch or pick your tattoo! If you must, gently slap the skin or use rubbing alcohol to relieve any itching or irritation.
While there might seem to be quite a few steps to follow, they are very simple to follow. The bottom line is that you need to pay attention to your tattoo. The body wants to heal itself as naturally as possible. Do not try to hurry the healing … just help I along. If you stay very diligent with your care for several weeks, you will have a fabulous looking tattoo that will be perfectly gorgeous for years.
Following these steps will definitely ensure that your tattoo heals quickly, the inks will set and stay deeply colorful…and you will enjoy your new tattoo for your lifetime.
