Are Women With “Tramp Stamp” Tattoos More Promiscuous?

June 16th, 2010

What is the definition of “Tramp Stamp”? The phrase “tramp Stamp” refers to lower back tattoos on women and it suggests that the women who wear them are promiscuous.

The Urban Dictionary gives the following definition about women who wear lower back tattoos: “Those chicks with tramp stamps are the kinds of girls you take home to bang. Don’t get into relationships with them because they are often immature gold digging sluts who sleep with everyone.”

Ignorant opinions This is an example of ignorance gone wild. Someone has a strong opinion about something, based on pure ignorance or prejudice, and they spread their mindless ramblings as fact. And of course, rumors spread faster than wildfires, so the next thing you know everyone believes this bull and continues to pass it on as solid truth.

Where did this term originate from? It’s not very clear when it started becoming a popular phrase to describe lower back tattoos on women, but it’s been much more prevalent recently.

Are these rumors true? Is it true that women who wear lower back tattoos are more promiscuous?? The studies that supposedly prove a correlation between lower back tattoos and promiscuity are neither scientific nor accurate. Granted, women who are already promiscuous may choose to get a lower back tattoo, but that doesn’t necessarily mean it goes both ways. It would be like saying that since some dogs bite, then all dogs bite!

What is the connection between sexuality and lower back tattoos? It may be said that women who display tattoos on the sensual lower curvature of their backs are expressing sensuality and confidence. Showing the lower back, with or without a tattoo, is no different than showing skin on other sensual areas of the body. In the 1800s, a woman would be considered indecent if she showed her shoulder or leg. The pinups that were shocking in the early 20th century featuring bathing beauties in swimsuits are laughably very modest today. They used to be considered as positively pornographic.

Areyou willing to accept the attention? If you have a lower back tattoo and if you choose to display it by wearing low-rise jeans or crop tops, you will have to accept the fact that you are going to attract extra attention. But can you handle it? To assert yourself as a strong independent and sexually confident woman means being able to carry yourself in a dignified manner despite negative reactions.

Inappropriate Comments? Showing a lower back tattoo is not an open invitation for others to make sexual comments. While it may be true that there are those out there who will judge women with lower back tattoos and refer to them as “tramp stamps,” there is no truth to the claim that these women are any more promiscuous than others.

Who will judge you? If you are a woman wanting a lower back tattoo, go for it. If you’re concerned about the people who will judge you for it, either toughen up or cover up. And if you’re one of the ignorant people spreading the “tramp stamp” rumors, well – consider yourself educated.

Removing Your Tattoo

June 14th, 2010

You went through the application of the new tattoo with aplomb. All your friends will be amazed by your new ink; the image is rather impressive: A dragon, along with a skull, and flames all around. The flames go all the way up your neck, so that when wearing a shirt and tie you will still se e part of it. It is the most awesome thing you have ever done. You proudly wear the tattoo through high school and then on to college.

Graduation day arrives, and you passed with flying colors. After four years of hard work you have obtained a degree as a business professional. It was easy picking out what you really wanted to do with the degree; Public Relations. Working with people is your forte, as was evident by how many friends you had in school. You are ready for work, and you are ready for the public. Customers will be satisfied with your techniques of placation, and customer satisfaction is number one in your priority list.

Your first job interview is coming up, and it is in a large conglomerate, a business with a solid future. Dealing with big money and with large companies will be your assignments. The excitement is overwhelming, but you put on your best face. During this time, the tattoo is not even thought about. You have had it so long you never really pay attention to it. Three weeks prior to the interview you finally realize that it shows on your neck, which will bring on questions, and quite possibly negate a position for you in this huge company.

You’re frantic. Is there a solution? Can you cover it up? You research, panicked, coming across all sorts of fake, faddish, gimmicky treatments. Gels and creams that claim to fade your tattoo are pricey, and reviews don’t support the claims of effectiveness. You need something that’s going to take away the ink completely, though, and you need something that’s not going to cost so much. Finally, you come across a much more plausible solution: Laser tattoo removal.

Laser tattoo removal is an easy and very effective method for getting the ink out of skin. The laser itself works at a wavelength of light that penetrates the skin and acts upon the ink to disrupt the chemical makeup of the pigment. Each treatment takes only a couple of minutes, depending on the size of the tattoo and how much ink was used. Different pigments take different amounts of treatments, but you can be sure the ink will be removed without scarring.

When you remove a tattoo through laser removal, you’ll have some uncomfortable sensations; it feels something like a rubber band being snapped against your skin. The place you have the removal done may put a numbing cream on top of your skin so that discomfort is reduced. It may take up to 10 treatments to remove the tattoo completely, depending on how big the tattoo is, with a 6 to 8 week wait time in between treatments. This slowly fades the ink and ultimately completely removes it from your skin.

Finally, you have something that works. You must bid adieu to your old friend, the tattoo, but it’s off to a new life. You go off to your interview, confidence renewed, and you ace it; you get the job, and now, you have a secure future and a great job is yours. It was worth every penny to get the tattoo removed.

A lot of people are considering the present time to be a time of expression, where people will do whatever possible in order to stand out in a crowd. Tattoo machines are used heavily these days in order to allow artists to perform basic tattooing procedures. The needles end has an opening that is located on the bottom portion of it. This open portion of the needle is what is utilized to press the ink into your skin. With these tattooing guns there are two different types of needles that will put into these guns in order to perform the tattooing process.

One needle is used in order to trace the outline of the picture that an individual desires. Typically, the outline is drawn in black, but other outline colors may also be used depending on the desire of the consumer obtaining the tattoo.

The other needle will be used for the initial shading process. However, this shading process normally takes the most time when the tattooing is being done. These machines have made it possible for the tattooing process to be done in a quicker motion.

Even though tattoo machines have made it easier for people to obtain tattoos in a sterile and clean environment, there are still other tattooing procedures that exist. In fact, some cultures still utilize some of the older instruments that were first invented when tattooing started. The process of not utilizing one of these machines for tattooing is extremely painful.

The alternative way to have a tattoo performed is through using a special tattoo machines that is normally a hammer and a sharp object. This process can be extremely painful, but there are some cultures that utilize this means of tattooing in order to clarify a rite of passage with some cultures. Rite of passage means that the procedure can be used in order to welcome a boy into adulthood.

Tattoo machines were first invented in the 1870s. In fact, the funny thing is these machines were first created by the infamous inventor Thomas Edison. He was actually attempting to make an engraving machine and come to figure someone else took his invention in 1890 and decided that this special engraver could also be used to apply tattoo ink to an individuals skin.

Throughout the years, these machines have undergone a plethora of changes. Artists are now allowed to engage in the tattooing process with haste. Inadvertently, these days its hard to go anywhere without seeing a tattoo shop in a prominent town.

However, the needles that are within the guns must be sterilized before they are used on other people. If the needles are not properly sterilized individuals that are having these machines used on their bodies can experience serious infections.

Tattoos allow people to illustrate their individualism, they are a form of artistic expression. If you are looking for a way to express yourself go to your nearest tattoo parlour today.
